Student Assistant/Hiwi Data Sharing & Data Trading in cooperation with BASF

How can we enable organizations such as BASF to share and trade data with other organizations to create value, develop novel services, and create joint value? How can we determine if an organization is ready to share data to derive measures for enhancement? Which organizational models are beneficial for data sharing and trading and which risks do come along with it?

These are questions relevant to the research project Data Sharing & Data Trading in cooperation with BASF. The project aims to facilitate and foster data sharing & trading to BASF in a private-sector context. Our insights are based on practice-oriented research directly transferring and applying gained insights into practice at BASF.

Currently, we are looking for motivated students to join our lab as student assistants (hours per month are flexible, e.g., 20-40 h/month).

Your tasks will include

  • Working with us on designing, conceptualizing, and implementing research studies and writing research publications as part of the team.
  • Supporting and assisting in qualitative research (e.g., design, preparation, and analysis of expert interviews).
  • Support in project management (e.g., preparation and visualization of project results and insights for presentation to the higher management of BASF).

Your profile:

  • You convince with above-average performance in your studies in the field of industrial engineering, business informatics, technical economics, business administration, computer science or similar.
  • You are interested in the emerging field of data sharing and trading for private-sector organizations
  • You are highly motivated to work on recent real-world problems in a goal-oriented working mode by thinking proactively, working independently and not hesitating to bring in your own ideas.
  • You have excellent language skills in German and English
  • You are a team player, motivated, committed, and interested in exploring ways of scientific working
