Career

Tobias is a research associate in the Digital Service Innovation (DSI) research group at the Institute for Information Systems and Marketing (IISM) and the Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI). In his research, he focuses on strategies to monetize data assets and how to enable the development of digital ecosystems through open data.

Prior to joining the DSI research group, Tobias worked as a business strategy consultant and project manager at IBM on various client engagements across multiple industries in Germany, Switzerland and France. In this role, he led transition phases in global outsourcing projects, drafted market entry strategies and supported clients in developing their innovation portfolio. Prior to joining the KIT, Tobias worked at IBM’s corporate headquarters in New York, USA and supported the global leadership team in making sound management decisions by applying advanced analytics methodologies. Tobias holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration with Distinction (MBA) diploma. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and the co-inventor of a patent on providing digital services.
